Literature House On Mango Street By Sandra Cisneros House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros talks about the life of a young girl, Esperanza. Esperanza the main character was an insecure girl who really wants to escape the poverty of Mango Street. Throughout the book she sees the struggles and things women have done in order to escape Mango Street. She uses them as advice on what do, but figures out that she only needs to depend on herself to escape Mango Street. Overall, I really enjoyed this book because reading this takes time to fully understand what is going on.
The Absolute True Diary of a Part Time Indian By Sherman Alexie The Absolute True Diary of a Part Time Indian by Sherman Alexie talks about a Indian boy named Arnold Spirit. This book talks about how difficult it is to live in a reservation. Arnold was made fun of because of being smart. Arnold felt like he wasn't getting enough education when he found out he was learning what his parents were learning when they were in high school. So he decided to go a better school at a white neighborhood. Overall this book talks about how bad and the struggles are in live in a reservation. All in all I enjoyed this book because it was really funny and interesting.
The Art of Racing in the Rain By Garth Stein The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein talks is about a dog, Enzo the main character who is very excited in his belief in reincarnating into a human after his death. This book talks about the struggles of being a dog who wants to take action in situations and become human. Throughout Enzo's life he was always loved the way or being a human. With this book readers can see the perspective of a dog. In the book Enzo's owner goes through difficulties with his wife, and his wife's parents, in which Enzo gets dragged into. Overall, I really enjoyed this book because it had suspense, which made me want to read the book. I also enjoyed this book because it was very humorous and interesting.
